Our Belief

We believe that the Bible is not just an ordinary book, but God’s revelation to humanity — a disclosure of truths that humankind could never discover on its own, unless revealed by the Creator Himself. The Bible was written by ordinary people, yet they were inspired by God’s Spirit. God has preserved these writings through time so that we, too, can read them today as Holy Scripture.

Moreover, to those who are willing to follow the truth, the Creator gives His Spirit so they can understand the message of the Bible. The key to understanding Scripture is Jesus Christ, the Savior of humankind — the living Word of God (John 1:1,14). Whoever desires to follow Jesus, the Holy Spirit — also called the Spirit of Truth — will personally confirm the written Word to them. In this way, they not only understand the message but also enter into a direct relationship with the Living God, one of trust and faith.

All such people — who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and trust Him — which means they follow Him with their lives — we consider our brothers and sisters, born of the same Spirit (John 3:6), and our fellowship a small part of the universal Church of Christ.

For that reason, we include here the Nicene–Constantinopolitan Creed, which is still accepted by the great majority of Christians today as a concise expression of the Christian faith:

We believe in one God,
the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of the Father before all worlds;
God of God, Light of Light,
true God of true God;
begotten, not made;
being of one substance with the Father;
by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men and for our salvation,
came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.

He was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered and was buried;
and the third day He rose again,
according to the Scriptures;
and ascended into heaven,
and sits on the right hand of the Father;
and He shall come again, with glory,
to judge the living and the dead;
whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord and Giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son together
is worshiped and glorified;
who spoke by the prophets.

And we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins.
And we look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
